Banquetas Quilpo LowBack

The Quilpo Low Back Counter/Bar Stool (pronounced: KIL-po) is an original design, hand crafted in solid wood and select Argentine saddle leather. Height is customized for your counter or bar. Photos are of full bar 33″ high stools, counter height runs about 26″.

The chair’s striking lines and finished suede back show well from any angle. The thick full grain leather seat and back offer pressure-point-free support that conforms to your body at just the right angle.

The Quilpo Low Back is a a superbly comfortable banquette whose pared down design makes for a light and easily moved piece that slides nicely on its non-marring nylon furniture glides.

Each chair is hand signed, and I make them in Zoita wood, a dense and heavy honey-colored hardwood; stunning in a hand-rubbed oil finish.

The design is a bow to the European mid-century-modern masters while solidly couched in a Latin-American design tradition; dense and figured hardwoods intersected by two generous slings of tanned full-grain leather. Its curvilinear members meet, press and pull against each other at the service of the seated, it’s a pleasure to sit in and only gets better with age.

I flat-pack and crate the Quilpo Chair for shipping via FedEx. Its easy and fun to put these chairs together, I include a how-to video. Delivery from date of purchase for these special order pieces depends on quantity and work flow in my shop, typically about 4 weeks.
